So... we meet again!
news, news and my 10 years in the industry!
How have you been?
My previous newsletter came shortly after some of the most chaotic and happy days of my life! My wedding, the new addition to our cat family, and my work load being as it is... it was pure chaos. I'm (kind of) happy to announce almost everything short of calmed down. ( I am finally a happily married man, the cats are four, happy and healthy-ish-! Well, the new addition to our family is still sneezing everywhere but other than that she looks much better) Except for my work that is... my work is chaos, which tbh I kind of like...
GARGOYLES are “on like Donkey Kong” my involvement in this project is endlessly exciting to me.. and I guess a lot of people turn out to be as excited about this thing as I am. I think I kind of knew already how important this franchise is to people of my generation but I couldn't fathom the extend of your love for them. And I love it!!!!
And speaking of things important to my generation... I am involved in yet another one of them!!!! you can get a cover, drawn by me on the next issue of... wait for it... Darkwing Duck! I mean Oh! My God! How lucky am I being? What's next!?! Is someone going to hand me a life size replica of the Death Star? Am I going to buy a wardrobe and be transported to Narnia? Should I mind my way around sewers in case any ninja turtles need to emerge?
In related (how super lucky I 'm being themed) news...
My DC comics Days are not over! You'll soon be able to catch some of my very own pages in Dark Crisis War zone #1, written by the one and only Matthew Rosenberg with colors by the amazing Matt Herms, where I try my hand on the Green Lanterns!!! ( oh my God! oh my God! oh my God!)
Plus! PLUS! I might have some extra DC thingy to say. It just might have something to do with a super- fast Super dude. Just saying, you might need to read my next newsletter if you want to be in the loop.
And now back to the nostalgia train!
This month marks a very important and happy anniversary for me! It's been 10 years since my first paid international job as a comic book artist.
It seems so far back and yet as if it was yesterday. Such a fulfilling journey... I have grown as an artist, sure, but my experience is infinately more important thanks to the people I have worked with, I have shared this journey and I have become who I am now next to, and due to some amazing people. I wish I could thank them one by one, but your patience, my time. and this medium, sadly do not permit such an indulgence.
For all my Greek ( Athenian) friends I have something in the works for next month with many gifts, an artbook, a meet and greet and more very soon. Keep in touch. I’ll see you soon!
Take care!
